My great great grandad was a magician and ventriloquist who "committed suicide" by jumping into a lake after going missing a couple of days. I wish I could have found out exactly what did happen and why he did it and whether he had been drunk but its a total mystery. I'd love to find out what happened to his dummy and what his act was but these things are lost in time.
Also, almost all of my family is not interested in genealogy so they never asked their grandparents things and kept things like my great grandfathers letters back home in world war 2 in which he got killed. Very disappointing
world war 1 that should be
Thanks its just me – I'm a member of genes reunited but not ancestry.com as i can't afford. You have a good memory. Yes he was Henry Link and born 1860 – do you have any info on his children. I have looked at the censuses of 1881, 1891 and 1901 and I cannot find themT. I know he had about 8 or 9 children but they are not on the census – do you know why this could be? Thanks for your help
The hiding of the warts. I had an uncle who died while institutionalized though no one will say what for and divorces prior to 1960, bits of history just chopped out of the family records. No one speaks of any of the occurrances.
